Narrowsburg, New York Real Estate
Narrowsburg, NY is located in the western part of Sullivan County, about 2:15 to 2:30 from New York City. The quaint riverfront hamlet is home of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the http://www.dv-opera.org/, one of the few community opera companies in the U.S. The National Park Service's Upper Delaware River headquarters is also located here.
There are some lovely residential areas in Narrowsburg. The "Flats" is the area along the Delaware River, with a mix of Craftsman, cape, colonial and ranch style houses. A second residential area rises on the hill south of town, affording nice views from many locations.
South of Narrowsburg, along Crawford Road, is one of the few areas along the NY side of the Delaware River where houses sit right along the river, without a road between the house and river. There are also some ridgeline properties with panoramic views of the river valley.
The rural areas around Narrowsburg tends to be more wooded than open farmland. Many of the houses outside of the hamlet are on wooded parcels, offering privacy and seclusion.
Riverfest, the last Sunday in July, is one of the best street festivals in the county, and definitely worth putting on your calendar. Eaglefest in January is one of the highlights of the winter season here.
