About Rock Hill, NY Real Estate
Rock Hill is located in the southeastern part of Sullivan County in the Town of Thompson, just 80 miles from the George Washington Bridge.
Rock Hill isn’t a village or hamlet in the traditional “quaint country village” mold. It’s more a commercial strip that largely serves the surrounding lake communities.
It’s those lake communities — Emerald Green and Lake Louise Marie on Lake Louise Marie, Wanaksink Lake, Yankee Lake, Wolf Lake and Masten Lake — that give Rock Hill its tremendous appeal. Weekenders from the city can make it from door to dock in less than 90 minutes, even less from the Jersey suburbs.
Rock Hill has everything you need for day to day necessities — there’s a supermarket, hardware store, pizza place and a few restaurants, including Bernie’s and it’s more casual cousin, the Crust Italian Eatery, both adjacent to The Sullivan, a hotel with boutique leanings. Middletown, with a good sized mall, the full range of box retail and a cineplex, is just 20 minutes away and a good option for those inevitable rainy days. The Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, west of Monticello, is about 20 minutes away.
