For almost 14 years, I’ve written a monthly report on the residential real estate market in Sullivan County, with information on sales, inventory, activity and trends. It’s been a mainstay of this website, and over the years have improved how I collect and slice and dice data (like merging and normalizing data from both the Sullivan and Hudson Gateway MLSs for a more complete picture of the Sullivan market.)
I’ve decided to shift from a monthly report to a quarterly one. The reason? There just isn’t that much to report in terms of trends and changes on a month to month basis. Trends are just more apparent on a quarterly basis. Quarterly reports will still give potential buyers a good handle on the current real estate market here. The last monthly report I posted was February, there was no March report. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks (once all of the sales data is in) with a report for the first quarter of 2016.
