I showed this for the first time a few days ago. I loved it. It’s totally adorable. The house is cozy sized, with 2 small bedrooms, but is beautifully renovated and has this fab screened in porch (and fireplace!). The setting has everything a lot of second home buyers are looking for. It’s located on a quiet back road (Corkscrew Road outside of Barryville), with the house set back from the road on 7+ acres — you cross a little bridge over a stream to reach the house. There’s also an outbuilding with a second story that could be finished out to a nice studio, with a workshop below. There’s also cable for internet, something you often don’t find on back roads here.
This one isn’t for anybody with a large family, or planning to pack in a lot of weekend house guests. But for buyers looking for a country nest with a lot of charm, and space for a studio or workshop, it could be a great fit. Click here to see the full listing with more photos. (Note: the listing states the house is 1,700 sq. ft., but I don’t think that’s correct. The property record for the house states 1,055 sq. ft., which feels more like it to me.)
