There are a handful of houses that I always love showing, like this house northeast of Parksville. This one is quirky and fun, in a good way. The property was lovingly crafted by the owners, who are huge gardeners, over two decades. There are incredible perennial gardens. with winding paths, rock outcroppings and a lovely gazebo. The main house is really charming, and has an almost tree house vibe to it, with three levels up to the master sleeping loft. It’s really a one bedroom, with some extra sleeping nooks, but could be reconfigured as a two. But there’s also a guest studio with a bath above the garage for extra sleeping. One challenge with this is that it’s not a great set up for families with young children, because of the main house layout, but would be perfect for a single or a couple with occasional house guests, or a couple with adult children.
For an artist or musician, there’s this really cool studio on the property that the current owners built as a painting studio. While it has dramatic lines, and you might think it would clash with the Hobbit-like nature of the rest of the property, it actually fits.
This property has been on and off the market for a couple of years. The asking price started at $399K, but this year it’s dropped to $299K, which is making this one real attractive. Click here to go to the full listing.
