Sullivan County, like most rural New York counties, doesn’t have universal wired (cable, DSL or FIOS) broadband connectivity. This has become a major agenda item for the county’s planning department, and the state’s new broadband program is putting resources behind expanding coverage. The county planning department needs to compile an accurate map of broadband service levels and served/unserved areas here in order to put together a plan. Towards this end, they’ve put out a survey and are asking both full time and part time residents to complete it, whether you are in a wired broadband service area or not. The page with the survey link can be found here. Paper copies are also available at town and village halls and public libraries, and are also being mailed to all houses shown on coverage maps as not having wired service.
This is really important. So please take a couple of minutes to fill it out, and pass along the survey link from the county page, or the link to this page, to friends and neighbors.
