This one jumped out at me the instant it hit the market. It’s a 1950’s Tudor style cottage on 6 acres in the Black Forest Colony that was updated in the 1970’s to give it a mid century vibe, including some wood paneling from the Pan Am building. It’s totally adorable. In Black Forest, you get the bonus of about 800 acres of community land for hiking, snowmobiling, ATVing (and yes, hunting), and access to a river with a cool waterfall.
The cottage is small, just 892 square feet, with two small bedrooms that even stretch the word ‘cozy’. So this probably isn’t a great fit for a family without some squeezing, but could be fabulous for a single person or couple with the occasional house guest. The price is only $149,000. I’d be surprised if this one doesn’t move very quickly. It’s tough finding something in this price range that’s private, in good condition and has style.
