Getaways with ‘charm’, that something in a house that makes you want to curl up and get cozy, can be pricey. A renovated farmhouse here on larger acreage with views and a pond can run upwards of $500,000, but something more modest with charm doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. There are some really sweet places on the market here from the low $100’s to the low $200’s that have plenty of curl up and cozy. They may not be as large, or have the same magazine-perfect setting or privacy of their pricier cousins, but they can make a pretty fine getaway.
I’ve pulled together some budget-friendly options that have charm that aren’t handyman specials, and some have been tastefully updated and renovated. Most of these are in the $100’s, with only a couple pushing into the $200’s. Click on any of the photos as they scroll through to go to the listing, or click here to see the listings for all of them.
