As a Realtor, I see lots of houses. I've probably seen a couple of thousand here, from tiny cabins to spawling country McMansions. Even the most expensive houses are seldom perfect, with a scale or balance that doesn't feel homey or detailing and finishes that scream more money than taste.
For close to the first time in 13 years of selling real estate in Sullivan County, I went into a house that I thought was just perfect. Of course perfection is subjective, and this 3,500 sq. ft. modern lakefront home on Timber Lake, built in 2008, may be too modern for some. But I couldn't find one fault; I loved everything about it. The scale of the rooms feels just right and the layout has a great flow. The master bath is stunning, with walls of windows. I wish I could buy the house just to take a soak in the tub. The owners put as much attention into the outdoor areas as the indoor ones, with a seamless transition from house to decks to lake.
The house is listed by McKean Real Estate with an asking price of $1.59M. Click here to see a full version of the listing, including more photos. If you're in the market for a stunning house in this range, I'd love to show it to you.
